Expansion Shaping Up To Completion

With each day that passes we are amazed at the progress of the new expansion. We have been photographing the progress this month and you won’t believe how quickly things are shaping up. The Gateway at the entrance to the exhibit area is really coming together as colorful murals line the newly constructed walls. The Exhibit Hall, which will showcase exciting Corvette displays before entering the new Corvette Store, is almost complete and currently showcases a 1998 Aztec Gold C5 on display.

“Our plans are still to have most areas substantially completed by the Bash event with the exception of the Enthusiasts Area and Corvette Hall of Fame Exhibit Room which will be wrapped up before the 15th Anniversary Celebration in September,” states NCM Facilities/Displays Manager, Bob Hellmann. “This has been a real task of love and an exciting experience, and we can’t wait to share the new Museum with everyone.” Our Corvette Café will officially open its doors to the public mid April and will offer a selection of items for breakfast and lunch along with tasty ice cream treats. View the online images to keep you updated as we move along on the expansion via our website.

Bash Pre-registration Countdown is On!

Pre-registration for the Bash event, April 23-25, ends in less than one month and approximately 700 people are already pre-registered! The Bash will be our first chance to show you the new expansion and the new Corvette Café will be open to serve up some tasty selections! One of the unique things about the Bash event is a chance for you to meet and greet with GM/Corvette team members and talk “Corvette”.

You have a chance during the event to be a part of a Corvette Clinic for not only current model year Corvettes, but 2008 as well. This is an activity we have added to offer you “one on one” time with GM team members and help you resolve issues and share your thoughts. Space to be a part of the quality clinic is limited, so please be sure to add this to your registration to reserve your time with GM personnel who are dedicated to assist you. The Bash event is a true learning experience and we can’t wait to have you here to enjoy all the great things planned! View the online agenda and make your plans to be a part by registering online.

The 57th running of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring was a history-making event for Corvette Racing. For Johnny O'Connell, it was a record-setting eighth Sebring class victory. For Jan Magnussen, it was his milestone 100th career victory in the American Le Mans Series' landmark 100th race. For Antonio Garcia, it was his first win with Corvette Racing.

And for Corvette Racing, it was a perfect performance that included an ALMS record for laps completed in the GT class at Sebring to jump start the 10th anniversary of America's premier production sports car racing team. Read the complete story
here.

Corvette Racing's next event is the Tequila Patron American Le Mans Series at Long Beach in Long Beach, Calif., on April 18. The race will be viewable on ABC tape delayed, April 19, 12:30-2:30 p.m. ET.
